Painting the Rehearsal: Music and Light

Last month I spent a week drawing and painting string quartets and chamber ensembles in the beautiful state rooms of West Dean College. Work has now begun making larger scale paintings of the ensembles I worked with during the week from the drawings and oil studies made during rehearsal. As promised here are some of the oil studies made during the residency.

An exhibition of drawings and paintings inspired by the Chilingirian Quartet Summer School is being planned during next year at West Dean College.
