Continuing ‘Familiar Faces’

Work has continued on my series of portraits Familiar Faces. My most recent painting Ralph is still on the easel following what I think was the last sitting yesterday. Painted over six sittings Ralph sat patiently while staring at a still life in progress propped up in the corner of the studio. Now is the indecisive period, time to stop or as the paint surface settles and dries will I need to take it any further? A lot of time sitting in the studio and pondering will follow…

The two first portraits of the series can be seen below. since the last time they were published John had three more sittings and Susan a further two.
