A Diary of a Portrait IV

This session took place on the darkest December day, struggling all the way through the sitting and seeing very little in terms of colour relationships through the gloom.

after session 4…

I knew I was in for a shock once I saw the painting in good light. Alas, little progress was made and although I was trying to establish the eyes and mouth the result was rather lifeless and clumsy.

Since I have during our following session corrected these and I now feel happier with the painting to allow me to post this past shot. The next photos will follow soon…
